Cultural Anthropology Study Programme at SMAN 1 Ngluwar Magelang
In order to increase the number of applicants for prospective Cultural Anthropology Study Program students at Udayana University, several steps are needed to realise it. One of them is to conduct a socialisation that introduces Udayana University Anthropology Study Program directly to 3rd or 12th grade students in schools. One of the socialisation conducted by the Cultural Anthropology Study Program outside the island of Bali has been conducted at SMAN 1 Ngluwar in Magelang Regency. This activity was enthusiastically followed by 148 12th grade students and 10 teachers of SMAN 1 Ngluwar. This socialisation which was conducted on Tuesday 19 November 2024 has provided an understanding to the students who attended the socialisation, related to the potential obtained when becoming a Cultural Anthropology Student at Udayana University.
The beginning of the socialisation was opened first by the Principal of SMAN 1 Ngluwar, Mrs Beny Sukandari, M.Pd.B.I. Then a brief speech by the Head of Cultural Anthropology Study Program, Mrs Aliffiati, S.S., M.Si. Furthermore, materials related to the advantages of being a student in the Cultural Anthropology Study Program were presented with enthusiasm and humour by Gede Budarse, S.Sos., M.Si. Then at the end of the socialisation there were quizzes with attractive prizes, which were guided by Taufik Agus Purnomo, S.Pd., M.A. This series of events can run smoothly, even the students follow with enthusiasm. This is evidenced by the questions given by students related to the presentation material, have been cleared well answered.
SMAN 1 Ngluwar is one of the best schools in Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. It is proven by the many awards obtained by the School. One of the interesting things about this high school is the active community of SMAN 1 Ngluwar that always publishes books every year. The books are not only made by the students, even the teachers, educators, school guards and school cleaners also make books that are managed directly by the school. Even in the previous year 2023, SMAN 1 Ngluwar managed to publish around 60 books. A performance that is not found in many schools. Hopefully, this programme can continue the students' book writing passion into Anthropological researches that prioritise ethnographic methods. Which is to record all human activities in groups as cultural activities that need to be studied in detail and preserve their values. (Dzd).
