Ngulik Antropologi Budaya: Mulawarman students learn about Udayana's cultural anthropology
The Widya Sabha Mandala
Auditorium FIB Udayana on November 28, 2023 at 09.00 WITA had guests from all
the way from Samarinda. The group consisting of students and lectures from
Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training
and Education, Mulawarman University visited Udayana University to get
acquainted with the Cultural Anthropology Study Program at Udayana University.
The meeting took place in a relaxed and friendly manner in an event titled
"Ngulik Antropologi Budaya". Apart from getting to know each other,
this event was also a warm discussion event on the topic of cultural
degradation in the midst of a multicultural society.
The visit of the group, which
included at least 70 students and 2 lectures from Mulawarman, was not without
purpose. They want to know more about the science of anthropology, since
anthropology courses are included in the curriculum of their studies. So this
meeting becomes a medium for learning together to understand the relationship
between culture and national and state unity. This event also seeks solutions
to the big problems that the Indonesian nation will face, because the young
generation that will continue the development of the country is considered to
be increasingly approaching modern cultures from outside Indonesia. It is
feared that in the future the original culture of Indonesia will be replaced by
the modernity brought by the younger generation.
The event took place in a relaxed
manner with the hospitality of the large Cultural Anthropology family, both
faculty and students. It started with a warm welcome from the Cultural
Anthropology Program Coordinator, who introduced the Cultural Anthropology
Study Program. Starting from the curriculum, activities, focus of scientific
development studies, to the job potential for students. Then the event became
more interesting for the guests when the Professor of Cultural Anthropology
Unud, Prof. Dr. A.A. Ngr. Anom Kumbara, M.Si participated in providing
material. Prof. Anom discussed the cultural phenomenon in Balinese society that
is able to maintain harmony between Eastern and Western culture. The
explanation provides new insights and answers problems in the theme of this
event.
Ngulik Antropologi Budaya event
was warm with the hospitality of the host, everyone got to know each other and
ended with a group photo moment that warmed the atmosphere. At 12.00 WITA,
Mulawarman's group said goodbye to FIB Udayana to continue their activities.
After the visit, they took home not only new knowledge but also valuable
experience about the importance of preserving culture in the context of a
multicultural society. Through this event it is hoped that it will not only be
a place for exchange of knowledge between universities, but also open a deeper
insight and understanding of the challenges of cultural degradation in a
multicultural society. We hope that through such activities we can continue to
promote a better understanding of cultural diversity and strengthen national
unity. And can also establish cooperation and collaboration with other
universities.
