Report on Research Results of Cultural Anthropology Study Programme Students in PKP2 PKM 2024
One of the activities of Udayana University Cultural Anthropology Study Programme students in national level academic competition is by participating in the Student Creativity Programme. The Student Creativity Programme is one of the activities of Belmawa which functions to measure the level of academic quality of Indonesian students. This competition programme is always actively followed by students throughout Indonesia who compete to show research ideas that are innovative, solutive and modern. In 2024, one of the PKM Research Humanities teams came from Cultural Anthropology Study Programme students who became one of the teams that passed the funding. The Udayana University Cultural Anthropology Team was also able to present their research results at the PKM 2024 Progress Assessment on 2 August 2024.
In 2024, the only PKM RSH team from Udayana was directly mentored by Dra. Ida Ayu Alit Laksmiwati, M.Si. with the theme of Balinese women's beauty. This research idea is based on the influence of globalisation on human life, especially on young women in Indonesia. The influence of Popular Culture which is orientated towards South Korean Culture, makes women's beauty standards follow the country's standards. Having white skin, straight hair, a small waist and others make traditional beauty standards shift. So it needs a counter culture, one of which introduces the beauty standards of Balinese women. Where the traditional beauty standards of Balinese women do not look from the physical side, but from the Social and Cultural side.
The great hope of the Cultural Anthropology Study Programme of Udayana University is that students can actively participate in this competition every year. Even able to reach the PIMNAS (National Scientific Week) stage. This is not just a dream, because there are many ideas and potentials that can be explored from Cultural Anthropology Students. Congratulations serious, hard work and intense discussion with the supervisor, then the academic achievement of students can develop better.
