The Norwegian Student Graduation at the 4th Social Anthropology Graduation Event

On Tuesday May 21, 2024, a celebration was held in the Priyono room at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Udayana University. This was the end of a course class series for nine participants from Norway. For about half a semester, they took part in the Social Anthropology program, which is an annual event that comes about through a partnership between the Cultural Anthropology Study Program at Udayana University and Go Study. These joint projects have given overseas students a great insight into Balinese culture.

The 4th Social Anthropology Graduation celebration was attended by nine Norwegian participants, Go Study representatives, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Udayana University, the Cooperative of the Cultural Anthropology Study Program, lecturers in Social Anthropology, and lecturers and students of the Cultural Anthropology Study Program. The graduation ceremony for the social anthropology participants was basically like a graduation ceremony in general. All the participants were in their graduation robes and gowns. Then they took turns going up to the stage to move the toga strap to the right by the Deputy Dean I, get a certificate from the Cultural Anthropology Study Program Coordinator, and put on a medal necklace from the Social Anthropology lecturer.

The activity took place with a happy atmosphere, because it was full of entertainment performances that had been prepared by the committee. As a characteristic of the Cultural Anthropology Study Program at Udayana University, there are many traditional dance performances, almost all of which are performed directly by students of the Cultural Anthropology Study Program. Various art sequences were performed, such as the Wela Kaleng dance from NTT, the Old Mask dance from Bali, the Bumbung jogging from Bali and at the end of the event closed with the Sidhakarya dance. Like celebrations in general, all participants and committee participated with happiness and joy. Starting from joining in searching together and singing together. As an expression of the happiness of the Norwegian participants who have completed their short course class on the island of Bali, with the Udayana Cultural Anthropology Study Program. (drd)
