The Social Anthropology Class of Autumn 2025 performed traditional Tek Tekan music at the 5th International Education and Culture Festival at Udayana University.

Udayana University's Office of International Affairs (KUI) is holding the 5th International Education and Culture Festival again this year. This event happens every year and brings together different cultures, study opportunities in other countries, and collaboration between students, educational partners, and the diplomatic community. The event will take place from Friday, November 7 to Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Nusantara Room on the 4th floor of the Agrokompleks Building on the Sudirman Campus of Udayana University. It will start at 9:00 a.m. Central Indonesian Time (WITA).

This festival showcased various international cultures, including those of Japan, China, Egypt, and several other countries. International students studying at Udayana University performed live. Along with the cultural exhibition, there was an educational exhibition from partner schools and universities. There were also several scholarship and study abroad opportunity providers. The event was attended by representatives from several Denpasar schools, local and international students, and invited guests.

One of the most eye-catching performances was by Norwegian students in the Social Anthropology Short Course Program. These students were studying culture, particularly Balinese culture, in the Cultural Anthropology Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Udayana University. In this performance, they played traditional Tek-Tekan music. The costumes they wore showed off Balinese culture. They wore kebaya, kemen, and buns and payas like Balinese women do. Their performance amazed the whole room. They didn't start on the stage. They started at the entrance, which surprised everyone. They performed confidently because they had practiced several times with their supervising lecturer, Kadek Surya Jayadi.

This traditional cultural performance is a great way to promote cultural exchange and strengthen Udayana University's reputation as a center of knowledge and culture. Events like this allow people to share ideas about culture and science, create new connections around the world, and open new perspectives for everyone who attends (ria).
