Udayana Cultural Anthropology Study Program Started the Year with a Digital Anthropreneur Talkshow.
The Cultural Anthropology Study
Program began the beginning of 2024 with an extraordinary event on January 11
2024. Located at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, the
Cultural Anthropology Study Program held an event titled "Digital
Anthropreneur: Entering the Digital Business World 2024". This event,
which took the form of a hybrid talk show discussion, became a forum for
anthropology students who were brought together directly with digital business
practitioners to exchange ideas and insights.
The talk show was held offline at
the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Prof. Building. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra will also be
broadcast online via the YouTube channel @kramaunud. Even though this event was
held in the middle of the students' holidays after the exam period, the
enthusiasm of the students was extraordinary with dozens of students attending
in person and hundreds of online viewers. The enthusiasm of the students to
participate in this talk show was high because it was directly led by Dr. Ida
Bagus Gde Pujaastawa, MA., one of the most popular lecturers in Anthropology at
Udayana University. Also a great resource person, namely Dr. Dadang Hermawan.
He is the Chancellor of ITB STIKOM Bali, who is also a senior practitioner in
the business world. So he has provided different stories of experience,
knowledge and views on digital transformation in the business world.
This talk show was held due to
the awareness of rapid digital transformation and globalization in 2024. The
results of the 2021 BPS E-Commerce Survey show that 63.52% of e-commerce
business players have used internet services for digital marketing. This
phenomenon reflects the changes in people's lifestyles, with 2.36 million
business units selling online in Indonesia in 2020. The role of anthropology
graduates is key in addressing this change. Anthropology, as a science that
understands people, culture and society, has great potential to contribute to
the digital business ecosystem. Through ethnographic methods and qualitative
research, anthropology uncovers layers of information that other methods may
miss.
This talk show brought
anthropology students together directly with digital business practitioners.
This resulted in an interesting discussion that explored how anthropological
insights can be a strength in business competition in the digital age.
Discussions between academia and industry are expected to create inspiring
collaborations.
The Digital Anthropreneur
Talkshow: Entering the Digital Business World 2024 is expected to provide an
in-depth perspective and create a collaboration platform between the world of
academia and industry. And understand the potential of anthropology graduates
in filling the digital preneur spaces that are developing in 2024. Thus, this
event is the first step for future Anthropology graduates to shape the future
of digital business, which continues to transform. (drd)
