Welcoming the new participants of the Social Anthropology Program at Udayana University

On Monday September 1 2025, an atmosphere of excitement filled the new Social Anthropology classroom on the third floor of the Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Bagus building at Udayana University. The Cultural Anthropology Study Program officially launched the Social Anthropology program and held an orientation event to mark the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester and the start of a new academic year for the program.

The Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., opened this solemn and dynamic event. In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the importance of the program as a cultural introduction for the Norwegian people, who were represented by the 34 program participants from Norway. The highlight of the event was the presentation by the Head of the Social Anthropology Program, Prof. I Made Suastra, Ph.D. With authority and clarity, Prof. Suastra helped the new participants get to know Udayana University better, including its vision and mission. This included a detailed explanation of this semester's academic journey.

Professor Suastra presented a comprehensive lecture schedule running from September to December of 2025. In addition to dates and courses, the presentation included an outline of learning outcomes, evaluation systems, and expectations for participants. This material will serve as a valuable compass to help participants begin their studies with clear direction and a well-planned approach.

The opening ceremony and orientation are not just ceremonial events; they lay the groundwork for fostering a sense of community, academic discipline, and belonging to the Social Anthropology Program. Under the guidance of experts in the field, program participants will immediately immerse themselves in the world of anthropology and learn about Balinese culture (dz).
